First Galaxy continued

Saturday, I finished laying out the wool roving and added bits of knitting yarn, burlap threads and silk caps (first experiment with those).
After an hour or so in the bathtub (the felt) getting an upper body workout (me)...
this emerged from its wrapping.
Stay tuned for the finishing touches....

Wow, that is amazing Christie. can't wait to see what you do with it.

I laughed when I saw your pot...I've done that.
Get some onion skins and some leaves and tie it into fabric bundles. silk and wool (protein fibres dye well) cotton just needs some help, soak it in a little milk first. Japanese use milk as a mordant, they can wait a year before they use the fabric....I'm too impatient.
old metal is great for colour, Iron will give black and purple colours. brass gold copper green...it is really like tie dye...bundle and wrap boil or steam and wait....longer you leave your bundles to cool the better... I make lots so I can have some NOw & some later....little gifts....Thanks for dropping by my blog. I will be back to see how this comes out cheers Shazz

Thanks soooo much, Shazz. What a wealth of info in just one comment! That's the perfect summary - also better for those of us who are impatient :).
